Alpaca 101

Another Class Coming Fall 2023!

Are you interested in starting an alpaca farm? Or maybe, adding alpacas to your existing farm? This seminar is for you! 

This seminar will provide you with information about alpacas, their care, and the physical requirements for a farm.



Cost is $85 per person or 2 people from same farm $125.

What to expect....

During the approximately four hours, you will have both “classroom” and hands-on. It will include:

• the history of alpacas

• the characteristics of alpacas: the herd, behavior, protection

• alpaca husbandry: regular daily care of alpacas

• what to expect from your alpacas

• getting your farm ready for alpacas: fencing, fields, shelter

• our recommendations for starting out or adding alpacas

• various business models

• resources for continuing education

• set-up and suggestions for starting

• Q&A time



Knitting and Crochet Lessons  

DETAILS: For individuals that have never crocheted or knitted before or have tried and never understood. 

  • Lessons taught by Carolina Pride Pasture’s fiber artist Laura Coy at the Alpaca Farm.   

  • Lessons are one on one and are custom tailored to your skill level.

  • Cotton yarn and needles/hook will be provided at the first lesson.  

  • No commitment necessary, you may book as many lessons as you wish

  • 1 Hour lessons by appointment are available on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am-4pm 

Price $20 per lesson
***Book 4 lessons and get the 5th for free*** 


Additional sessions may be added depending up interest.   Moderate to Advanced lessons are available.
