Farm Kids and School

⚠️ Warning... Long post! ❤️

I couldn't bring myself to write this yesterday, and I barely made it through writing it today, but here goes...

There are moments in life that stop you in your tracks and remind you just how quickly time passes.

When I first started the farm, these two little girls were right there beside me. They were just babies—one under 2 and the other under 4. They don't remember a time before the farm because they've grown up alongside it. Every fence we've built, every barn we've cleaned, every flower we've planted, every alpaca, llama, chicken, duck, dog, and cat we've welcomed has become part of their story just as much as mine.

What started as my dream somehow became theirs too.

Now, somehow, one is a senior and the other is a sophomore. I honestly don't know how we got here so fast. It feels like just yesterday they were carrying feed buckets twice their size and proudly showing visitors "their" animals.

Today they're becoming amazing young women with dreams bigger than I ever imagined. They talk about traveling, seeing the world, meeting new people, and experiencing life beyond our little corner of it. Grace talks about taking over the farm one day, adding goats (because apparently, we don't have enough animals! 😂) and continuing everything we've worked so hard to build together.

As a mom, that's all I could ever ask for—to know they have the confidence to spread their wings but the love to remember where their roots are.

Watching them grow into kind, compassionate, hardworking young women has been one of life's greatest blessings. This farm has raised so much more than alpacas, llamas, chickens, and flowers. It has helped raise two incredible daughters who understand the value of hard work, responsibility, family, and caring for something bigger than themselves.

There were countless early mornings, late nights, long weekends, and sacrifices along the way (vacations can be tricky!). They didn't always have the typical childhood because the animals still needed feeding and farm life doesn't take a day off. But through all of it, they learned resilience, patience, and that some of life's greatest rewards come from rolling up your sleeves and putting in the work.

No matter where life leads them, I know this farm will always be home. Whether they're traveling the world, chasing their own dreams, or one day walking back through these gates to build the next chapter, I'll be cheering them on every step of the way. If there's one thing this farm has taught me, it's that seasons change. Livestock doesn't live forever. Babies grow up. Dreams evolve. And while it's bittersweet watching this chapter come to an end, I couldn't be more excited to see what the next one holds.

We can't wait to see where life takes these two. Whatever the future brings, I'll always be their biggest fan—and this little farm will always be waiting for them. ❤️🌾#cppastures #farmlife #farmkids
